The Path In

For students:

1. The most direct path is IIST Thiruvananthapuram — a four-year BTech that absorbs nearly every graduate into ISRO.
2. Second-strongest is a strong aerospace, mechanical, electrical, ECE, or CS bachelor's with summer internships at ISRO or a private space company.
3. Build a visible project: a CubeSat club contribution, a launch-vehicle simulation, or a satellite-data analysis. Private space companies actively screen for demonstrated work.
4. Apply to ISRO via ICRB for ISRO roles; apply directly to private companies for private roles.

For mid-career professionals: lateral entry from aerospace, defence, or strong software backgrounds is now feasible at the senior-engineer and lead-engineer levels.
