RAPD — construct, norming and validation.

A condensed technical statement of the RAPD behavioural assessment, intended for partners, institutional reviewers and curious mentees who want the work shown.

1. Construct

RAPD (Reflection · Aspiration · Pattern · Drive) measures four behavioural channels that consistently differentiate career trajectories in longitudinal practice. The instrument is forced-choice, situationally framed, and resistant to social-desirability bias.

2. Sample and norming

Current norms draw on 1,20,000+ Indian respondents collected across school (Grades 9–12), undergraduate, and working-adult cohorts. The norm sample is stratified across stream, gender, and urban-rural representation, with re-norming on a rolling 24-month cycle.

3. Reliability

Internal consistency across the four core sub-scales sits at Cronbach α ≥ 0.82 in the most recent sample (FY25). Test–retest reliability at a 30-day interval exceeds 0.78 on the aggregate score.

4. Validity

Construct validity has been examined against established instruments in interest, ability and aspiration domains. Predictive validity is reported as 12-month and 24-month fit-durability for stream-of-study and first-role choices, tracked against the Define-Destiny and Drive-Career cohorts.

5. Scoring and the TriFit frame

Raw RAPD scores are translated into TriFit coordinates — interest, ability and aspiration fit — and mapped against Dheya's database of 15,524 occupations. Mentors interpret coordinates qualitatively; no automated recommendation is issued without mentor review.

6. Limitations and ethical use

RAPD is an instrument of insight, not of selection. It is not used for hiring, admissions, or eligibility decisions. Profiles are interpreted only by CPD-trained mentors, and never returned to a mentee without a guided session.
